Frequently asked questions

How does this work?

You'll need a computer with fast internet connection and a webcam. We'll send you a link to the video session when you book online. Click the link found in your email at the time of the appointment and join our doctor for your video consultation. If you don't have a computer/internet/webcam, we can always reach you at the phone number you have provided. Make sure to indicate this when you contact us.

What can I expect from this service?

Our goal is to provide a service where you can get a hold of a dentist when you need one the most. If you don't have access to a dentist or you'd like to see one in the comfort of your home, office, etc. we're here for you. Our recommendations will be limited to what we can see and what you self report given the nature of the meeting. This will help guide you to find a temporary solution or a definitive one. This can include prescription medication, oral care instructions, referrals or other measures.

Will my extended health benefits pay for this service?

Maybe. This is an evolving field and there are some insurance companies that have come on board with this type of treatment. It's worth keeping your receipt and submitting it to your insurance provider as soon as you get a chance.

Are you able to give me a prescription?

Yes, only if the dentist determines the need. We will be evaluating all aspects of your health and your needs and make a recommendation from there. This might include a prescription medication or it might be other measures.

What can I do to make this session go better?

Organize your thoughts and be prepared. Try to describe and characterize the symptoms you're feeling as best as you can before hand. If you have a picture, or recent xrays of the area from a previous dental visit these can also help. You can send these to our email before the session.
